Straight Hand Stock and Snap-on Splinter Forend are crafted from nicely figured walnut. The stock has suffered a crack vertically and longitudinally through the head, it has been professionally repaired and should give no further problems, although we would not recommend big changes to cast or drop. The stock is cast off for a right-handed shot, carries a vacant white metal escutcheon and is finished with a new leather covered 1" recoil pad.

Nicely figured walnut

The 21 lines per inch chequering has been cut to a normal backlock design and is in good condition. The stock is finished with a traditional linseed oil based preparation as used on best guns by one of the top English makers. This finish uses no grain fillers to achieve its deep, smooth lustre, only many hours of alternate build and flatting off of the surface.
