Update 17th September 2015

Welcome to my September 2015 Update.

In the two weeks since Chrissy, the dogs and I returned from the Isle of Mull I have been working flat out to get all my stock ready for our flight out to New York, now only 5 days away!

The Isle of Mull is now a distant memory but we had lots of fun, ate far too much venison, probably drank too much single malt and I put three stags in the larder.

Stalking in August means early starts but then you get to experience dawn light over Ben More:

And if things go well you get your just reward:

And when you get home, there is a welcoming committee:

Oh well, enough of the recent past and on to upcoming events:

I have committed this year to exhibiting at the ‘North American Shotgun Classic’ at the Beretta Shooting Grounds, Dover Furnace, NY on 24th-27th September. Flights, booth and accommodation are booked and I am delighted that two good friends from this side of The Pond will be coming along for the ride. Sue and Clive Cross have shared my sporting world for over 30 years and it will be fun to introduce them to the joys of the American S/S gun show.

I am hoping to get a chance to shoot the clays course if there is a gap in the traffic at my booth and to this end I am taking my H Clark & Sons 16b SLE, an Accipiter 12 to 16 conversion that I finished about 6 months ago. This has become my ‘go-to’ gun in the last few months and I have been impressed by my own modest results, obviously down to the gun rather than the operator!

Flying with me will be twelve new stock guns and a myriad of accessories, both modern and antique.

The guns are:

John Dickson & Son 12b Round Action, 29” TIG sleeved.
